‘About Us’ Videos – With A Twist

Business videos are often thought of as static. You often see the CEO talking on screen in front of the company logo. Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with showing your CEO or your company logo but with just a few extra minutes of work and a $30 camera extender you can make your company stand out from the crowd.

When Pixability’s CEO Bettina Hein approached me about a team video we started brainstorming immediately. Our video had to be cool, something people will want to watch a couple times and share with their friends. It also had to be easy enough so that our customers could copy it in a short time and without using expensive equipment. Take a look at our team video:

If you feel inspired to make your own video like ours, this is how we did it:

The tools

1.     Standard office chair
2.     Camera extender (made By XShot http://www.xshotpix.com/)
3.     Duct tape
4.     Business cards

How we did it

1.     Go to a great location (preferably when it is overcast)
2.     Sit on the office chair
3.     Hold the camera extender at belly button level
4.     Spin clockwise

The beginning and the end

1.     Tape the camera to the ceiling while recording
2.     Write out message on the floor in business cards
