A Happy Customer: Everyday Oasis
Pixability edited a video for Lora Canary's meditation website Everyday Oasis. Her site is a place for relaxation, renewal and reconnection - an escape from chaotic day-to-day life. Lora was very pleased with her video. Our team received a gift of delicious brownies and a card from Lora praising the video and our work that said "Thank you to everyone at Pixability! You made my video the best ever and my website has exactly the feel I wanted." We analyzed the experience with Lora to glean an understanding of what it takes to make a client happy. What were the ingredients of Lora's project that made it a success? From her end: 1. Lora knew exactly what she wanted She knew what videos, what photos and what message she wanted to convey. 2. Less is more Her footage was less than 30 minutes and all of it worked well to tell her story. 3. Sense of style and mood The music and wording she chose created a meditative and relaxed feeling. 4. Being organized She researched and uploaded her materials in a timely manner. From our end: 1. We understood her goals We helped her create a video that reflected her objectives of creating a calming place for people on the web. She wanted to contrast the craziness of everyday life with the relaxing space of Everyday Oasis. 2. We listened to her comments and suggestions We incorporated her choice of soothing music and thoughtful wording for pictures. 3. We delivered her video in a timely manner Lora was on a deadline. She wanted to show the video at the IRIS conference and she did! These ingredients produced the synergy necessary to yield a successful video.
Only in New York with Steve Griggs
Steve Griggs Design focuses on three distinct yet integrated businesses: landscape design, land-use development and re-invention of existing buildings. Steve has decades of expertise in design and combines formal training, an artist's sensibility and a commitment to client satisfaction. Steve wanted to create a series of videos that would tell the story of his diverse products. In the past, he had engaged traditional production houses but the new idea of creating a video series would have been too costly for him as a small business owner. He looked for alternatives and contracted Pixablity to create high-quality yet affordable videos for him. To start off his series Steve showcased some of the interesting personalities he encounters in his business re-furbishing buildings in Brooklyn, New York. For example, he follows Brad, the Scrapmetal Sommelier, who makes several hundred dollars an hour using just a shopping cart. So, what made this project a successful one? On Steve’s end: 1. Content He had interesting video material – great ingredients that gave Pixability a lot of room for creativity. 2. Being specific Steve had a well-defined idea on how he wanted to present his video. 3. Steve’s creativity His background enabled him to leverage what Pixability’s creative team could offer. On Pixability’s end: 1. Ability to work with diverse backgrounds Pixability’s team knows what appeals to an audience and can make things work under even unusual settings. 2. Personalized experience Steve worked closely with Theresa Moore, Creative Consultant at Pixability, to flush out details of the project (i.e. music selection, color scheme). 3. Process feedback from the customer and understanding his objectives: One of the most critical components for the success of any project.
