Beginning in 1911, International Women’s Day is a globally recognized holiday celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. Each year on March 8th, people all over the world take the time to recognize and celebrate the achievements of women everywhere.
This year’s theme is Embrace Equity. Equity isn’t a nice-to-have – it’s a must-have. The theme ‘Embrace Equity’ aims to drive home the point that equal opportunities aren’t enough, and can be exclusionary rather than inclusive. Equality means that each individual or group of people is given the same resources or opportunities. But, equity recognizes that each person has different circumstances, and allocates the exact resources and opportunities needed to reach an equal outcome. Learn more about why this is important here.
Pixability is committed to embodying these values not just on March 8th, but always. We are a female-founded company and are proud to have 50% female representation across multiple disciplines including Engineering, Product, Marketing and Customer Success. In addition, we take the time to support our population of women through Employee Resource Groups, external conferences, and many multicultural acknowledgements. We also educate our wider employee population on important topics (like International Women’s Day) in a variety of ways including Company-wide informative communications, Lunch and Learn sessions, and educational employee engagement opportunities (e.g. trivia and open forums).
