The Challenge
Burger King set out to support its Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu cinema tie-in by driving high-completion attention and scaled reach among Star Wars fans across adults 18-34, layering in fast-food affinity signals to keep the message commercially relevant rather than purely entertainment-led.
With VCR as the primary KPI, and reach, brand lift, and search lift as secondary measures, the campaign needed to prove that a culturally relevant YouTube strategy – timed to the film’s release – could translate fandom into measurable brand recall and search intent.

Key Outcomes
Pixability implemented Non-Skippable, ER ad formats to maximize high-completion attention across devices. The campaign used four 15s creatives, with copy phased from pre-release to in-cinema timing to keep the Mandalorian and Grogu tie-in relevant throughout the flight. Pixability combined Pixie AI fandom signals, geek-culture contextual segments, QSR and food-delivery affinities, and custom search intent, layered with strict suitability controls to reach audiences most likely to connect with both the film and the brand. The result: strong attention across key audience, device, and targeting segments, plus measurable brand recall and search intent, proving a fandom-led YouTube strategy can turn cultural relevance into active consumer demand.
