I spent Tuesday at LA’s historic Ebell Theater for CreatorIQ Connect (partnered with YouTube), packed wall-to-wall with creators, agencies, brands, and tech folks trying to figure out where the creator economy is headed next.

Left to right, Tim Sovay, Chief Partnerships Officer CreatorIQ, Subway Takes creator Kareem Rahma and Google’s Mithun Sheth, VP of Strategy, YouTube, on stage at CreatorIQ Connect.

My favorite session was Emmy winner Kareem Rahma with Mithun Sheth. Kareem brought the format from his Subway Takes channel right onto the stage. He pitched takes, the crowd volunteered hot takes (clearly the audience was full of his subscribers). It showed me that a great format works no matter where you put it.

Speed came up in every panel I watched. Brands are expected to move at the speed of culture or get left behind. It sounds like a cliché, but it’s true. Working with creators is one of the best ways to keep up, because they’re already part of the conversation consumers are having (with or without your permission). Jamie Gutfruend moderated a panel with speakers from SharkNinja and Amazon, pressing them on why their brands are well positioned to win customers with creator content. Their answers included speed too and gave a look at how real teams run creator programs that work.

Your channel is more than ads

Here’s my hot take (and where Pixability comes in): stop treating your brand’s YouTube channel like a graveyard for 30-second TV ads and recycled TikToks. Nobody is stumbling onto your website anymore, so your YouTube channel is your homepage. Post 8-to-10 minute deep dives, show some personality, and test until something sticks. Plus, LLMs are scanning your video content for context anyway, so give the AI robots something good to watch!

If you don’t have the bandwidth to make that content yourself, don’t panic. Odds are a creator who loves your brand is already making it for free and we can help you find them.

That’s why we go a mile deep on YouTube instead of spreading ourselves paper-thin across five other apps. We bridge creator insights, paid media, and strategy so your brand actually stands out on the one platform where humans (and robots) spend the most time.

Were you at CreatorIQ Connect? Let’s swap notes. If you’re wondering what your YouTube channel could look like if you gave it a little love, hit me up, we do a pretty sweet channel audit. I promise it’s not Judgement Day yet…
