Meet the Pixers is our blog series where we introduce you to the talented folks who make our company a success. Today, we’re featuring Alexa Pomerico, our Senior Director of Strategic Planning.

Tell us a little bit about your background:

I went to undergrad at Syracuse University (Go Orange!) and declared my Pysch major my freshmen year. I came in with enough credits from high school that I knew I had bandwidth to pick up a second major. At that point I was more aware of Newhouse and the excellent reputation it had.  After perusing the offerings I thought advertising sounded fun and declared that my second major. Upon graduation I moved to Boston after getting a job at very small independent agency at the time, Gupta Media and after six great years there learning all the ins and outs of digital media, made my way to my next home at Pixability where I’ve been for 7.5 years!

What is the last thing you watched on YouTube?

A very dreamy video on Zermatt, Switzerland during Christmas.

What is the best career advice you have ever received?

“If you don’t share the good news with who needs to hear it, it doesn’t count.” Excited about your campaign performance? Better make sure your client knows! Proud of something you worked on or your team achieved, bubble it up to your manager. In awe of a coworker? Share the kudos!

What advice would you give to someone starting out in their career?

Listen! You will be surrounded by a lot of smart people with a lot of experience. Certainly share your opinions and feedback however a lot of learning comes from experience so use that of those around you to better your perspective as it can be difficult to think outside of your train of thought. Leverage the wealth of knowledge and experience around you while you begin to build up your own.
