Meet the Pixers is our blog series where we introduce you to the talented folks who make our company a success. Today, we’re featuring Meg Ford, our Principal Engineer.

Tell us a little bit about your background:

I’m a software engineer at Pix. I have an undergraduate degree in Visual Art, and a master’s in Computer Science. I’ve been at Pix for four years, and have worked on most parts of our code. Right now I’m the technical lead for the new Data Engineering team at Pix.

What is the last thing you watched on YouTube?

A video teaching the Chinese plank exercise! I mostly watch fitness and music videos on YouTube. Once in a while I watch old SNL clips, too!

What is the best career advice you have ever received?

Always be proactive about communication. Ask questions to clarify, even if you think you might know the answer. It’s always better to get as much detail upfront before working on a task, so you can quickly solve problems.

What advice would you give to someone starting out in their career?

Know what you bring to the table, and communicate with confidence.
